Have you ever watched a child collecting their eggs during an Easter egg hunt? Watch how they wander around with their baskets in hand and collect up their finds. Notice how there is an egg in the basket, one melting away the free hand while another has been handed to you to eat…ooops, I meant to say hold. We stand their telling them to pop them in the basket but no amount of suggestion gets that little cherub to change their mind, remaining insistent that this how they must collect their treasure.
Maybe, just maybe, its the little ones that have it right and us ‘oldies’ who are not quite so! You see we are raised being told go to school, get an education, get a job and you will be set for life. What this actually says is ‘go to school, get an education and you will work your backside off for someone else’s dream, relying on them as your only means of an income, and when an international crisis hits you will invariably be financially stuffed’. I’m not for one second suggesting that people do not need an education, that is something I believe everyone is entitled to, should receive the best of, and should make their very best efforts to achieve their full potential.
As we’ve seen over recent weeks with COVID-19, and the worldwide shutting down of businesses and companies in many sectors, many people have lost their income, or a significant portion of it, and are facing the next few weeks/months with huge uncertainty as to whether they can afford to pay the bills and put food on the table. There’s been a huge rise in the number of people making a claim for Universal Credit (UC) to supplement some of their income but as you already know, the amount of money that is provided through UC is barely enough to pay the rent and the essential bills, then to add things that many already have commitments for, such as car insurance, credit cards, loans, and there’s certainly not enough for clothes or haircuts and beauty treatments, well, they just have to go.
As well as Universal Credit seeing a huge rise in the number of new applications; there have been other areas which too have been rapidly growing. Multi Level Marketing (MLM) is your own business, one you are wholly responsible for the success (or failure) of, one which you build, at your own pace and in your own time, recommending the business, its product and services to your family, friends, neighbours, work colleagues, and anyone else who would genuinely benefit from the options you have to offer.
What has all this got to do with COVID-19 and kids with Easter eggs?
If your income is the eggs and the basket your employer, who puts the eggs into the basket.
What will happen when basket is dropped, or the bottom falls out of it, when the employer can no longer foot the wages bill, what happens to you, to your family and your home you’ve worked so hard for?
For many years over 45,000 UW partners have been building their businesses, in the nooks and crannies of their everyday work and life, people from all walks of life. The reason why so many choose to do this is for financial peace of mind, because they know – all too often, too well – the inherent dangers of ‘putting all of their eggs into just the one basket’ and scraping back from the brinks of bankruptcy. Financial peace of mind comes from knowing that no matter what happens to your day job that you are always able to pay your bills, keep food on the table and a roof over your head. Today is no different for each one of those UW Partners, in fact its mostly improved with the current conditions, with the addition of a remote appointment facility, this means we can continue to safely and securely help you and your family and friends, just as we could before the social-distancing restrictions. There’s been a surge in people wanting to review their outgoings – offering essential services, the ones your household could not live without, means no matter the circumstances, there is always a need, and a want for what you have to offer – but more importantly there has been a huge surge in the number of people wanting to start building their own UW business from the comfort of their own home, be it the kitchen table, the corner of the sofa or even sat upright and hiding from the family in your bedroom. Just helping one household per week can see you earning up to £1,400 a month. Better still you build a monthly royalty income for each one of the customers within your business, which doesn’t stop if you stop, so when the world returns to ‘normal’ and the day job beckons again you’ll have two incomes and the option to continue to build your UW business in the nooks and crannies of your day.
